Inspect the Source Quality
Text-based PDFs usually provide a cleaner source than low-resolution scans. For a scanned PDF, check that pages are upright, readable, and not cut off. Heavy blur, shadows, handwriting, complex tables, overlapping columns, or decorative layouts can reduce the structure recovered during parsing.
If only one page is difficult, try converting that page as a clear JPG or PNG. Keep the original document until you have reviewed the Markdown output.
Separate Upload Errors From Parsing Errors
An upload failure can come from an interrupted connection or a temporary service response. Reconnect to a stable network, reopen the file, and retry once. A parsing failure occurs later, after the service receives the source but cannot produce usable Markdown.

Try a Smaller, Simpler Test File
To identify whether the issue is the document or the service, try a short, readable PDF under the same network conditions. If the small file converts and the original does not, simplify or split the original. If both fail, wait and retry later instead of changing the document repeatedly.
Use the app's supported-files screen to confirm current formats and limits. Do not convert a document to an unrelated format just to bypass validation, because that can remove text structure or image quality.
Review the Result After a Successful Retry
Once conversion completes, preview headings, paragraphs, lists, page markers, and tables before exporting. A successful job means Markdown was returned; it does not guarantee that every layout detail or character was recovered correctly.
Choose the output mode for the next step, then copy, save, or share the reviewed Markdown. Correct important errors before adding the file to Obsidian, an AI workflow, or a durable archive.
When to Choose Another File
