What Stays on the Device
In the current version, medication names, optional dose display text, meal labels, reminder times, notes, and taken or skipped records are stored locally on the iPhone. The app does not require an account or upload that personal reminder content to developer-controlled servers.
Local notifications are scheduled for the times the user creates. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in iPhone Settings.
Why Some Users Prefer This Boundary
A local-only model avoids account setup and keeps a small personal routine independent of a backend service. It can feel easier to understand because the app's core data flow is limited to the device and local notification system.
There is also no advertising or analytics upload of the reminder content described in the public privacy page.
What You Give Up
No cloud sync means the medication list and records are not designed to appear automatically on a second iPhone. The app is not a caregiver dashboard, clinician portal, pharmacy connection, or shared family medication system.
Deleting the app may remove locally stored data. Keep any required medical or regulated records in the appropriate professional system.
Privacy Does Not Remove Medical Risk
Local storage says where app data is kept; it does not make the app medically authoritative. Dose Reminder Lite does not diagnose, recommend treatment, calculate dosage, or check interactions.
Notifications can be delayed, silenced, or missed. The app should not be treated as an emergency alert or guaranteed reminder system.
Use It as a Personal Convenience Layer
The most defensible use is narrow: represent an existing routine, show what is due, record what was marked, and review recent local activity. Any decision about changing, delaying, repeating, or skipping medication belongs to the applicable professional guidance.

A Local-Data Checklist
Decide whether you need cross-device access, caregiver sharing, professional exports, or backup before choosing a local-only tool. Keep only the personal display details needed for the reminder, delete stale entries, and understand that uninstalling the app can remove local records.
Privacy and safety are separate dimensions. Local storage can reduce server exposure, while safe use still depends on accurate setup, professional instructions, and an appropriate response when a consumer notification is missed.
