Privacy Policy

FlashBrief: AI Voice Notes

Effective date: 2026-08-20

This page explains how FlashBrief: AI Voice Notes handles recordings, transcripts, AI-generated notes, feedback, purchases, permissions, and user controls. It serves as the public privacy policy for App Store review and for people using the current version of the app.

Plain-Language Summary

  • FlashBrief does not require account registration and does not provide cloud sync in the current version.
  • Recordings, saved ideas, transcripts, and selected AI results are stored on your device unless you request processing.
  • Selected audio and transcripts are sent to the disclosed processing services only when you request transcription or AI structuring.
  • The current version has no ads, cross-app tracking, or third-party advertising profiles.

Data Handled On Device

  • Microphone audio and recording duration
  • Transcripts, segment text, idea titles, tags, and selected structured results
  • Local app-language, output-format, and AI-analysis selection preferences
  • Pseudonymous installation identifier, product, entitlement, and restoration status
  • Successful transcription minutes and successful AI-result counters used for quota enforcement
  • Feedback rating, message, optional email, and request identifier when you submit feedback

Storage and Collection

  • Recordings and app records are stored in FlashBrief app storage on your device
  • No account-based cloud recording or transcript library is provided
  • Feedback drafts stay on your device until you send them. Successful submissions are recorded by the feedback service; failed drafts remain available for retry
  • The FlashBrief service stores limited usage and operation records needed for quota, idempotency, and entitlement checks; those records do not contain the stored recording library
  • Processing services may retain limited operational records needed to complete requests, prevent duplicate work, enforce usage limits, and investigate failures

Permissions

  • Microphone access is used only when you start or continue a recording
  • FlashBrief does not continuously listen in the background
  • You can change microphone permission later in iPhone Settings
  • The current version does not require location, contacts, camera, health, or notification permission for its core capture flow

Framework and Third Parties

  • FlashBrief uses iOS system microphone, file-storage, clipboard, browser, email, and share capabilities when you choose the related action
  • Specialist speech-processing services receive selected audio only when you request transcription
  • Specialist text-processing services receive selected transcripts only when you request structured results
  • The App Store processes purchases. FlashBrief receives product and entitlement status but does not receive full payment card details.
  • If you choose Email support, your mail app and email provider process the message. The public website feedback form is hosted by SuperMaster Lab.

Sensitive Use Boundaries

  • Do not record or submit confidential, regulated, legal, medical, financial, employment, or third-party information unless you have the right to process it and accept third-party processing risk
  • Speech recognition and AI structuring can be inaccurate; review the recording, transcript, and output before relying on them
  • FlashBrief does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, employment, or other professional advice

User Controls

  • You can record and review locally without requesting AI processing
  • You can edit transcript text and choose which AI result to keep or copy
  • You can delete an individual idea or clear captured ideas and recordings from Settings
  • You can clear local feedback drafts and receipts separately in Settings
  • You can restore an eligible purchase in the app and manage or cancel an active subscription in Apple Account settings
  • You can remove app data by uninstalling FlashBrief; App Store and service-side records require their separate controls or support process
